Raising a Confident Child... Preparing our kids for true greatness
Workbook with 2 DVDs
Our kids are very precious, complex, wondrous beings. As parents, our hearts’ desire is to see our children competently face life’s challenges, by raising kids with high levels of emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills.
We are a new generation of parents, committed to attaining knowledge about forging relationships with our children based on authenticity, acceptance of emotion, and respectful communication.
Leaving such a legacy does not happen by accident. What’s the secret of raising confident children? How do we pass onto our children a faith in themselves and their future? How do we help them accurately assess their capabilities, maintain a sense of control over their lives, and build in them the desire to plan and expect to achieve their goals? How do we support, not hinder, their sense of self-worth?
Raising a Confident Child was created to help every loving parent become skilled in protecting their children’s self-esteem when discipline is required. Parents will discover how to successfully navigate difficult encounters and build their children’s self-worth at the same time. This does not mean that we teach our kids that having high self-confidence means they will be able to do everything they want. That view is unrealistic and sets the stage for perfectionism. Any truly successful life has both rewards and the ability to learn from any setbacks, which increase our resilience, self-belief and determination. Real confidence requires that we face the possibility of failure constantly and deal with it head on. However, if children lose out on achievement and validation, their opinion of themselves begins to crumble.
That’s where we as parents play an important role. This live seminar training DVD set and accompanying workbook is for loving parents who want to raise confident kids who are comfortable with their emotions, tuned into other’s emotions, and recognize they have the power of personal choice in every situation. As well, the DVDs have been set up into short chapters and designed for parents to stop often, reflect on the principles presented in the workbook, and then take the needed time to practice each new strategy with their children before proceeding. This format ensures busy parents can acquire new skills which are readily implemented, leaving parents feeling confident and successful too!
